New Names for Kleine Leiden B.V.'s Products

The Wood Cleaners

For cleaning wood, Kleine Leiden had a wide collection of water-based cleaning agents for various wood types and wood finishes, released under the label F!XX Woodcare. For example, there was the 'Ecotone Cleaner for untreated wood', the 'Ecotone Cleaner for oiled wood', and the 'Ecotone Cleaner for solid wood'. Some examples can be seen on the left.

These cleaners have, after the takeover, been replaced by the water-based Royal Furniture Care Natural Wood Cleaner and for more stubborn stains, the stronger Royal Furniture Care Wood Power Cleaner, which you can see on the right.

Although both cleaners are available separately, the Natural Wood Cleaner is also standardly included in the affordably compiled Wood Care Kits.

Untreated wood

For protecting untreated furniture wood, Kleine Leiden offered the F!XX Wood Care Ecoseal in its range. This was a transparent impregnating oil. Today, you can find the same product at Oranje Furniture Care under the name Natural Wood Sealer. Natural Wood Sealer is a water-based colorless impregnating oil and offers optimal protection against water, oil, and grease. It is available separately, as well as in the very complete maintenance package Wood Care Kit Natural Wood Sealer. In addition to the Wood Sealer, it also includes a bottle of Wood Power Cleaner, a bottle of Wood Matt Polish, three microfiber polishing cloths, and a suitable sanding pad. This way, you can give your furniture a complete and thorough maintenance and protection treatment.

Tropical hardwood types

For treating tropical hardwood types, particularly Teak, Kleine Leiden offered Teakol. After cleaning the wood, the aftercare came in the form of a light-colored oil, which refreshed and nourished the wood. Nowadays, this can be found at Oranje Furniture Care under the name Wood Teakfix, which is available in individual 250ml bottles, as well as included in the care package Wood Care Kit Teakfix , along with a cleaner and a suitable microfiber polishing cloth.

Floor wax

Waxing furniture is perhaps one of the oldest and most traditional ways to protect furniture wood against dirt, moisture, and other environmental factors harmful to wood. Floor wax comes in many varieties, either entirely, partially, or without a beeswax base. While you could go to Kleine Leiden for F!XX Wood Care Ecowax, the product at Oranje Furniture Care is called Wood Antique Wax. In both cases, it was and is supplied in 3 color variations:

• Natural for light wood colors
• Medium Brown for medium wood colors
• Dark Brown for dark wood colors

Oiled wood

What was previously sold under the name Ecotone Olie by Kleine Leiden B.V. is now available as Wood Greenfix  from Oranje Furniture Care. This nourishing oil has been specially developed for oiled wooden surfaces and helps to keep the wood in optimal condition.

Wood Greenfix is available in two variants: Natural and White. The Natural version is suitable for natural oiled wood types, while the White variant perfectly matches white oiled wood. Both provide nourishment, protection, and preserve the natural appearance of your furniture. In addition to both versions being supplied separately, the Natural version is supplied in a package together with Natural Wood Cleaner and some polishing cloths; The Wood Care Kit Greenfix

Both Kleine Leiden and Oranje had a line of retouching pens, intended for touching up small scratches and damages. Whether it's minor damages during upholstery or simply from furniture use, retouching pens in the most common colors are excellent for concealing them. And it's not just for furniture; they can also be used for all other types of colored wood, from your laminate to your fence.

After merging the assortments, a new selection was compiled, consisting of a series of light colors and a series of dark colors, each consisting of 10 most common colors.

The Leather Cream from Kleine Leiden was a popular top product among leather care products. Not infrequently, we had customers who bought a pot to try, only to return the same week to buy several more pots. This jelly-like cream came in natural, brown, and black colors, was easy to apply, and could be used on almost all types of un-sanded leather, from furniture leather to shoe leather.

Upon the takeover in 2012, the product was therefore kept in the collection and subsequently marketed under the label Royal Furniture Care Leather Cream & Care. Still in natural, brown, and black colors. However, because the product essentially did not offer a significant addition alongside the liquid Leather Care & Color, it was discontinued a decade later, in the early 2020s.

Leather coloring

For cleaning stains and other dirt in textiles, Kleine Leiden had the amazing FiXX K&K Special Cleaner in its range. In addition to textiles, this product was also suitable for cleaning wood, glass, stone, ceramics and plastics. Oranje strictly separates these qualities into various cleaning products. For example, for cleaning textiles there is the fantastic  Royal Furniture Care Textile Cleantex, available separately, as well as included in the complete Textile Care Kits.

At the end of the last century, 3M's Scotchgard Fabric & Upholstery Protector was perhaps the best-known textile protector. But when it was banned in the Netherlands due to some ingredients, most retailers began searching for a comparable replacement. Many colleagues found this in one of two options: The FIXX Sofa Shield Protector from Kleine Leiden, or the Royal Furniture Care Textile Protector from Oranje. There are still retailers with an international chain where Scotchgard can still be imported, but by far the best-selling protector since the takeover of Kleine Leiden is now the  Royal Furniture Care Textile Protector, just like the Cleantex, available separately, as well as included in the complete Textile Care Kits.
